Fruselva, a company specialized in baby food for brands and MDD, attended the presentation of the Foodtech and Nutrition HUB in Reus (Catalonia), Spain, where the company’s headquarters is located.
The Foodtech and Nutrition HUB is a public-private initiative promoted by the Reus City Council to create an ecosystem with technology and nutrition as protagonists. The project is presented to the Next Generation European Funds with the help of administrations, universities, technology and agri-food companies to become an economic and social engine of the territory of Southern Catalonia.
Fruselva actively supports the creation of this global initiative that aims to promote synergies between companies in both sectors and address the challenges posed by climate change and digitization. The Company’s founder and president, Xavier Martínez i Serra, spoke at the event through a video recorded together with other agri-food companies to highlight the added value provided by these initiatives. He also outlined the need to follow Plant Based trends, promote sustainability, and to support local products.
During the presentation, those responsible for the project emphasized that technology and food are strategic sectors that, through the Next Generation funds, expect to attract an investment of 49 million euros. The HUB Foodtech and Nutrition is led by the Reus City Council, through Redessa, the Universitat Rovira I Virgili (URV), Eurecat-Centre Tecnològic de Catalunya and the Clúster TIC Catalunya Sud.
