At MaserGrup, we believe that being part of a territory also means actively contributing to the preservation of its heritage, identity and collective memory. With this vision, we have promoted the reconstruction of the Casa Navàs tower, a project that restores, 88 years later, one of the most emblematic elements of this Modernist building and of the historic skyline of Plaça del Mercadal.

On Thursday, 12 November 2026, at 8:00 p.m., Reus will experience a particularly significant moment with the public event “The return of a symbol: Reus touches the sky again”. Open to the whole community, the celebration will mark the completion of a project that goes far beyond an architectural intervention and represents a firm commitment to preserving Catalan heritage.

Recovering a part of Reus’ history

The original Casa Navàs tower disappeared on 26 March 1938, when a bombing during the Spanish Civil War destroyed part of the roof, the upper section of the façade and this distinctive element of the building designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner.

Since then, the image of Casa Navàs had remained incomplete. The restoration of the tower now represents a further step in the recovery of the building’s original architecture, following the reconstruction of the upper façade completed in 2020.

As owners of Casa Navàs, at MaserGrup we have undertaken this project with the aim of preserving an exceptional heritage asset and returning an essential part of its Modernist legacy to the city.

A project combining rigour, craftsmanship and a forward-looking vision

The reconstruction required extensive historical research and the involvement of architects, restorers and specialised craftspeople. The project combined traditional techniques with contemporary construction solutions to reproduce the tower that disappeared almost nine decades ago as faithfully as possible.

As a symbol of the completion of the works, the tower has been crowned with the senyera, reviving a Catalan building tradition and celebrating the successful conclusion of this highly significant intervention.

For MaserGrup, this project reflects a way of understanding business development in which growth, local commitment and heritage responsibility can progress together. Investing in the preservation of Casa Navàs means safeguarding history while also helping to project Reus and its Modernist heritage into the future.

On 12 November, the tower will once again become part of the city’s skyline. A restored symbol connecting past, present and future, and reaffirming our commitment to Reus and to the heritage we all share.
