The entity Fruselva, part of the business conglomerate Masergrup, has recently formalized an agreement to acquire and take control of the food conglomerate Costa Concentrados Levantinos SL, located in Riudoms (Baix Camp).

This group, with roots in the Valencian Community, was established in 1897 with the aim of developing an exclusive tigernut concentrate. Eager to expand its area of activity into the food sector, it was established in the El Prat industrial estate, on the Cambrils road. Its plant produces vegetable drinks, horchata, organic and gluten-free specialties and a wide range of plant-based vegetable milks, broths and soups. This agreement will strengthen the position of both companies in the Spanish and European markets, especially in the field of private label and co-manufacturing.

Regarding the scope of the operation, the purchase involves the acquisition by MaserGrup of 100% of Comercial Agroalimentaria SL, Costa Concentrados Levantinos SL and Vegemix SL, and 50% of the Murcian company Nutriops SL, owner of brands such as Ecomil, Dietmil, Diemeno, Diedam, Biolecibran, Vegemil or KioBio, among others, brands that are marketed in more than 40 countries.

The return of Fruselva to Europe

With this acquisition, Fruselva’s baby food product line will be expanded with a complete range aligned with its sustainability strategy, aiming to provide affordable, nutritious and competent products to consumers. The Riudoms plant is equipped with Tetra Pak industrial packaging lines for vegetable milks, and Fruselva will incorporate pouch packaging lines for baby food.

This operation marks Fruselva’s return to production and marketing in Europe, and in particular in Baix Camp, two years after the sale of its facilities in Selva del Camp. With a commitment to economic development in Spain, this new production and R&D facility represents Fruselva’s firm commitment to sustainable growth.
