We’re proud to share that the Association of Manufacturers and Distributors (AECOC), one of the largest business organizations in Spain bringing together companies across the entire value chain —from production to distribution—, has published a feature about Masergrup titled “From Buying and Selling to Manufacturing”
This recognition from such a respected platform not only fills us with pride but also highlights our journey of transformation, resilience, and innovation.
The article traces the career of our founder, Xavier Martínez i Serra, from his early days as a sales rep in the paint industry to the founding of Tecnol in 1997 — the starting point of what is now Masergrup. After a decade of success, the 2008 crisis marked a turning point that pushed us to diversify and go international.
What began with construction-related products eventually evolved —almost by chance— into the food sector, with the purchase of a former juice factory owned by the Pago brand. This move led to the creation of new business lines like Fruselva (baby food in pouch format) and Costa Concentrados Levantinos (soups, creams, and plant-based drinks), as well as the integration of Miró Vermouth, while continuing to grow Tecnol, which now focuses on technical products, urban equipment, and innovative solutions.
With over 1,000 employees and a turnover exceeding 150 million euros, Masergrup stands today as a diversified and competitive business ecosystem, committed to manufacturing high-value, highly productive and innovative products.
We sincerely thank Association of Manufacturers and Distributors for featuring our story and sharing it as an example of how to turn crises into opportunities and how, with vision, effort and talent, great projects can come to life.
