The visual artist Alba G. Corral is the author of a creation that will provide the modernist jewel of Plaza Mercadal with a second visual and sound skin with digital media

Vermuts Miró once again demonstrates her commitment to promoting and disseminating culture by leading an avant-garde project that will merge digital art with Modernism. On this occasion, the company promotes the creation of a spectacular mapping that will be projected on the façade of Casa Navàs Reus through an unprecedented sound and visual display.

The creation, the work of the visual artist Alba G. Corral, will give the exterior of Casa Navàs a second skin to explain, in an intimate and delicate way, its most hidden history. It also intends to be a song to the vindication by the artisans and their essential work to understand the greatness of Modernism in one of the most well-preserved buildings that exist. It should be remembered that Casa Navàs, built between 1901 and 1908, is the only modernist work in Europe that preserves its original interior.

On Thursdau, May 26 at 10:15 p.m the first screening will take place and will last approximately 10 minutes. The music video piece will be repeated until midnight. The projections will also be repeated on May 27 and 28 at the same time.

The mapping projection at Casa Navàs is included in the program of the ISEA 2022 international electronic art festival, which will take place in June at two venues: Barcelona and Reus. Among the activities planned within the contest is the Beep Collection: Origins exhibition that can be visited at the Center d’Art Cal Massó from this Thursday, May 26 to July 23.

Alba G. Corral is a visual artist from Madrid, based in Sant Carles de la Ràpita, with training in computer engineering and a multidisciplinary vocation. This internationally renowned creator has presented her work at various festivals and events in Europe, Japan, Mexico and the United States. She is also the curator of the Terres de l’Ebre Euphonic Festival.

The projection of the spectacular mapping on the façade of the Casa Navàs de Reus also joins the one that took place in Barcelona a few months ago with another of the reference works by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. This is the Sant Pau Modernist Enclosure in Barcelona, which was called ‘Els Llums de Sant Pau’.
